Bobby Byrd born Robert Howard Byrd (August 15, 1934 — September 12, 2007) was an African American funk/soul/R&B/gospel musician, songwriter and record producer. He was born in Toccoa, Georgia, and is a 1998 winner of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation’s prestigious Pioneer Award.
